What is an Urgent Care Center?
An Urgent Care Center, also known as a Convenient Care Clinic, is a medical facility which satisfies patients’ desire for convenient operating hours and reduced wait times. Urgent Care Centers typically offer:
- Care from a medical provider without an appointment
- Operating hours on evenings and weekends
- Highly convenient and accessible locations
- Procedures such as casting and suturing
- X-ray capabilities
- Customer-centered service
- Ability to get patients in and out quickly
What services are offered at Urgent Care Centers?
All Urgent Care Centers define their own range of services. However, it is common for these facilities to offer both “primary” and “acute” care services. (Acute care services at these facilities are typically above the level of an ordinary primary care center but below the level required to save lives or limbs.) Urgent Care Centers may also offer a variety of other services including physical therapy, occupational medicine, weight-loss, etc.
